Even our favorite stars are unlucky in love sometimes. Here are the celebrity couples who have split up in 2024.
The "Bennifer" love story that first blossomed more than two decades ago has come to an end. On Aug. 20, Jennifer Lopez, 55, filed to divorce Ben Affleck, 52, in Los Angeles Superior Court, according to court filings obtained by USA TODAY. The August date also marked the second anniversary of the estranged couple's Georgia wedding ceremony. Lopez said their date of separation was April 26 and asked the judge to restore her maiden name. Broadway and "Younger" star Sutton Foster is ending her marriage to screenwriter Ted Griffin just shy of their 10-year wedding anniversary. The Tony-winning actress on Oct. 22 filed for an uncontested divorce, according to New York County Superior Court records reviewed by USA TODAY.

Jason Tartick and Kate Stickler have broken up several months after their relationship began. "I am sad to share that Kat and I are no longer together," the "Bachelorette" alum wrote on his Instagram Stories on Oct. 12. "It's fair to say that I love hard with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life, that works out and other times it doesn't. This time, it didn't."
Stickler, a YouTuber and TikTok content creator, also addressed the breakup in a video. "It just didn't work," she said. "It's not love wasted. I feel like sometimes, it's so easy to think when a relationship ends that the love was wasted but love is never wasted."

Andrew Garfield and Dr. Kate Tomas have broken up. The "Amazing Spider-Man" actor and self-proclaimed "professional witch" are no longer a couple following their brief romance.
Dr. Tomas, who is also a spiritual reader and advisor, confirmed their split on Instagram on Oct. 11. In a comment responding to a fan, she said, "We broke months ago."

Halle Bailey and DDG, who share son Halo, announced their breakup on social media Oct. 3.
"Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true," DDG wrote on his Instagram Story. "We are still best friends and adore each other. As we focus on our individual journeys and our roles as co-parents, we cherish the bond we've built and the beautiful moments we've shared."
Victoria Monét, right, and John Gaines are united as devoted parents, but their love story has come to a close.
In a Sept. 23 X post, the Grammy-winning R&B star revealed that she and her boyfriend broke up 10 months ago.
"We both just have some fundamental growing to do that would be best done apart so we can remain the best versions of ourselves for our daughter," the former couple wrote in a joint statement. "It simply didn't work out and that's okay."

WWE and reality TV star Nikki Garcia has filed to divorce husband and professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev nearly two weeks after he was arrested in California on suspicion of felony domestic violence.
According to court records reviewed by USA TODAY, on Sept. 11 Garcia requested to dissolve her two-year marriage. The couple, who was partnered on "DWTS" in 2017 and married in 2022, share a 4-year-old son, Matteo Artemovich.

Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman, the co-CEO of Rachel Zoe, Inc., are parting ways after 26 years of marriage.
“We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and our countless memories together,” a Sept. 9 statement on Zoe's Instagram reads. “Our number one priority has been and will always be our children. We are committed to co-parent our boys and to continue to work together within the many businesses we share. We ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this new chapter.”

After seven months of separation, Brittany Cartwright is ending her five-year marriage with "Vanderpump Rules" and "The Valley" co-star Jax Taylor.
According to an Aug. 27 court filing reviewed by USA TODAY, Cartwright filed for divorce from Taylor. She petitioned for legal and physical custody of their 3-year-old son Cruz and asked for Taylor to be granted visitation.

Rumer Willis and Derek Richard Thomas, pictured in 2022, are splitting after two years together, the actress announced in an Instagram Story Q&A on Aug 22. "Nope," she answered a question asking if she and Thomas were still a couple. "I am single momming it and co-parenting."
The pair share daughter Louetta Isley Thomas Willis. Rumer Willis added she's "so grateful" for her daughter. "She is the best thing in my life and I'm forever I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life," Willis wrote.

Martine McCutcheon, right, and husband Jack McManus are going their separate ways after nearly two decades together.
The "Love Actually" star revealed on her Instagram story Aug. 22 that McManus "decided it's best for us to separate after 18 years together," adding that she accepts the breakup. McCutcheon said the couple's 9-year-old son Rafferty "will continue to be our No. 1 priority."
"Whilst this decision has evolved over a period of time, we are still finding our new way forward as a family and kindly ask for some privacy at this time...especially for our little boy," McCutcheon concluded. "I continue to send Jack all the love, luck and happiness for the next chapter of his life."
Joey Lawrence and his wife, Samantha Cope, are getting divorced after two years of marriage. The actress filed to divorce the "Melissa and Joey" actor on Aug. 13, and she listed June 7 as their date of separation, according to documents obtained by People and E! News.
Cope is also seeking full custody of the former couple's 1-year-old daughter, Dylan, while allowing Lawrence visitation with her approval. "Once Dylan is 3 or older, Joe will have the option to take her for 2 nights in her home location if he is not working and can facilitate her visiting," Cope proposed in the filing. Lawrence has two other daughters from a previous relationship.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose settled their divorce after months of public back-and-forth contention. The country star and his wife of seven months finalized their divorce on Aug. 5, after Cyrus first filed in May.
The pair had been in a tense legal battle, with accusations of abuse coming from both sides and a leaked audio incident, in which Cyrus was heard berating and insulting both of his ex-wives. Cyrus was previously married to Tish Cyrus, with whom he shares five adult children: Brandi, Trace, Braison, Noah and Miley Cyrus.

Mama June Shannon's daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, pictured with daughter Ella Grace Efird in 2018, filed for divorce from her husband of six years, Josh Efird, on Aug. 1, according to Georgia court records reviewed by USA TODAY.

"Flip or Flop" and "Christina on the Coast" star Christina Hall, left, and real estate agent Josh Hall, second from right, are calling it quits more than two years after they quietly married. Citing irreconcilable differences, both filed separate petitions for the dissolution of their marriage the week of July 15, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY.

"Grey's Anatomy" alum Sara Ramírez, who has been separated from husband Ryan DeBolt since 2018, has filed for divorce 12 years after the two married.
Ramírez's June 11 filing in Los Angeles Superior Court, which was obtained by USA TODAY, states irreconcilable differences as the reason for the dissolution of their marriage.

Latin singers Christian Nodal, left, and Cazzu revealed their breakup in an emotional social media post May 23. The split came eight months after the couple, who started dating in 2022, welcomed a daughter in September 2023.
“Our love and mutual respect remain strong, especially in our role as parents to our wonderful daughter, Inti," Nodal wrote on his Instagram stories, in Spanish. "I am deeply grateful for the moments we shared and will always carry those memories fondly.”

"The Golden Bachelor" couple Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced they're divorcing in an interview with "Good Morning America" on April 12 after three months of marriage. They were emotional during their wedding ceremony in Palm Springs, California, on Jan. 4.

Chance the Rapper announced on his Instagram story on April 3 that he and wife Kirsten Corley Bennett are calling it quits after five years of marriage. “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the same time we spent together," they wrote in a joint statement. The couple shares two children, Kensli Bennett, 8, and Marli Grace Bennett, 4, whom they plan to "raise together."

Tori Spelling (center) filed to divorce Dean McDermott (right) after 17 years of marriage on March 29. The estranged couple has been separated since June 2023 and shares five children together: Liam Aaron, 17, Stella Doreen, 15, Hattie Margaret, 12, Finn Davey, 11, and Beau Dean, 7.

"Selling Sunset" star Chelsea Lazkani on March 27 filed to divorce her husband Jeff Lazkani, with whom she shares to kids, after six years. According to a court filing obtained by USA TODAY, Chelsea Lazkani cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce and requested joint legal and physical custody of their children, 3-year-old Melia and 5-year-old Maddox.

Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan have called it quits. The ex-wife of Scottie Pippen and son of Michael Jordan, his former teammate, have ended their relationship after nearly two years. The split was confirmed by a person familiar with the situation who was not authorized to speak publicly.
The former couple broke up weeks after reconciling. They announced they were taking a break last month: "They have decided to take some time apart to reevaluate their relationship. This has nothing to do with any family input, but solely for their personal growth," a rep told USA TODAY in February.

Natalie Portman and husband Benjamin Millepied have finalized their divorce. A rep for Portman confirmed to USA TODAY that the former couple finalized their divorce in France, where the couple has lived, in February. Portman, 42, quietly filed for divorce from the 46-year-old French dancer in July 2023, according to People. The pair married in August 2012 after meeting on the set of 2010's "Black Swan," with Portman in the lead role while Millepied served as choreographer for the psychological horror film. They share two kids, Aleph, 12, and Amalia, 7.

Singer Ellie Goulding and her husband Caspar Jopling are calling it quits after nearly five years of marriage. Via a social media announcement Feb. 23, the couple publicly shared news of their separation. "In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago," Goulding wrote on Instagram Stories. "We remain the closest of friends and have been successfully co-parenting with our sons best interests at heart. We are committed to protecting our family privacy and thank people in advance for respecting our wishes - we won't be commenting further. Thank you."
On his own Instagram account, Jopling wrote: "Our immediate family and close friends have known for some time - otherwise we chose to do what we could to keep this private."

He cited irreconcilable differences, and their date of separation was listed as Oct. 2, 2023. Scott and Korenberg share a daughter, Frankie Rose.

Country stars Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires are calling it quits. Isbell, 45, filed for divorce from Shires, 41, on Dec. 15 after 10 years of marriage, according to reports by Rolling Stone and People in February. The couple would have celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary in February. The couple share a daughter, Mercy, 8.

Podcaster Bobbi Althoff has split from husband Cory Althoff, she announced on Instagram Feb. 7. Cory Althoff, 34, filed for divorce from TikTok creator, 26, in Los Angeles County Superior Court Feb. 7, citing "irreconcilable differences," according to documents obtained by People and E! News. The former couple separated on July 4, 2023, after three years of marriage, according to the outlets.
"As most of you have heard, Cory and I have filed for divorce," Bobbi Althoff captioned a black and white photo of the former couple on Instagram. "As sad as I am right now, I am so thankful for the time I got to be his wife."

Kim Marlowe filed to divorce Fabrice Morvan, one-half of Milli Vanilli on Jan. 8, People reported on Jan. 24. It's unclear when the couple got married, but Morvan referred to Marlowe as his "manager and best friend" in an L.A. Times interview in 1997. Morvan has been living in Amsterdam with partner Tessa van der Steen and their four children: Sacha, 10, Solange, 7, and twins Paris and Vince, 2, he told People in October 2023.

Bonet filed documents in Los Angeles County court on Jan. 8 to end her marriage from estranged husband Momoa. The "Cosby Show" actress cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the couple’s divorce and listed their date of separation as Oct. 7, 2020. One day after the filing, the pair finalized their divorce and a shared joint and legal custody agreement of their daughter Lola, 16, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 15, People and Fox News reported.

After four years of marriage, "The Bachelorette" star Rachel Lindsay and husband Bryan Abasolo are heading for divorce. Abasolo filed for divorce from the reality television star at the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Jan. 2, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY. The chiropractor listed "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for his split from Lindsay. Lindsay, who starred as the "Bachelorette" in 2017, chose Abasolo as the recipient of her final rose and accepted his proposal, eventually marrying in August 2019. "After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew," Abasolo said in a statement posted to his Instagram page. "Sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go."
