Joey Logano, a seasoned NASCAR driver, admits there's no element of surprise in the playoff field as the season nears its climax. With the YellaWood 500 on the horizon, Logano, a three-time champion, finds himself in an unenviable position, having yet to secure a victory this season. His 20th-place finish in Charlotte last week has left him trailing significantly behind William Byron, who currently holds the fourth position among the remaining playoff drivers.
Logano's performance in 2025 has been underwhelming, with only one win under his belt, the Wurth's 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. However, his form improved during the playoffs, securing him fifth place at Gateway, fourth in Bristol, and fourth in New Hampshire. Despite his impressive record, including 37 wins and 294 top 10 finishes across 609 career races, Logano remains unfazed by the challenge.
"I wouldn't say there's any surprises in the Round of 8 here," he stated. "I think they're all capable of winning the championship this year... every one of them. There's none that are like, 'Wow, I can't believe this guy made it this far. That's crazy.'" Logano's confidence in his competitors is evident, as he believes the championship will be a close battle until the very end.
Despite his three titles, Logano's primary focus remains on winning. "I just want to win. It's about the big trophy at the end of the day. That's all that matters," he emphasized. His determination to secure another championship is clear, and he's ready to take on the challenge head-on, regardless of the path to victory.
