Workforce development shouldn't begin in high school, but rather earlier. Research has shown that students begin to lose interest and disengage in school during middle school years. Losing interest may lead to dropping out. Dropping out means losing the opportunity at a sustainable career. Middle school is the PRIME time to begin intentionally showing students the connection between school and the workforce. As a teacher, my heart is aching for all students to know how school connects to their future. A lot of teachers, schools, and districts struggle with developing relevant transition and vocation goals. This is an extremely important process at the secondary level. I hope people can read this quote and understand the value education has on our society today like how It can be used to inspire the future and influence the next generations to strive to be better then what we are now.

I am a graduate of a Christian college and I loved it and the life, however if you are considering attending a Christian college, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, it is important to choose a college that is a good fit for you academically and spiritually. There are many different Christian colleges to choose from, so take your time and find one that is the right fit for you.Second, be prepared to be challenged academically. Christian colleges offer rigorous academic programs that will prepare you for success in your chosen field. Be prepared to work hard and to challenge yourself intellectually.Third, be open to spiritual growth. Christian colleges offer students a variety of opportunities to learn and grow in their faith. Take advantage of these opportunities and allow yourself to be challenged spiritually.Finally, be prepared to serve others. Christian colleges emphasize the importance of serving others and making a difference in the world. Look for opportunities to get involved in your community and to make a positive impact on the world around you.The Christian college experience can be a rewarding one. It can help you to grow academically, spiritually, and emotionally. If you are considering attending a Christian college, I encourage you to do your research and to find a school that is the right fit for you.

Small Colleges With A Personal Approach - King's College & Wilkes UniversityTraveling through the green, rolling hills of Pennsylvania, I had the opportunity to stop in Wilkes-Barre to visit and learn more about two of the local colleges. Both were within walking distance of the downtown Public Square area which boasts restaurants, entertainment options and shopping. Personally, I enjoyed a delicious lunch at Eden-a-Vegan Cafe!King's College is a private Catholic college with approximately 1700 undergraduate students. Their small class sizes and focus on “engaged mentorship” leads to strong connections between faculty and students. They offer 41 undergraduate majors and nine graduate programs, with the most popular programs being in the health professions and business/accounting. They also have a Young Scholars Program for academically advanced high school juniors and seniors which provides the opportunity for dual enrollment courses so that high schoolers can earn college credits.Wilkes University enrolls approximately 2,500 undergraduates with a strong emphasis on community so that classmates and professors all know each other by name. They offer 45 undergraduate majors and 14 graduate programs including liberal arts, business, mechanical engineering, nursing (the most popular), and more! They also have an accelerated nursing program and a pharmacy school. I loved this description of their programs which engage students: “This is an incubator for whatever you find interesting. For those willing to work for whatever comes next.”Both schools participate in Division III athletics and both have over 90% admission acceptance rates, offering opportunities for many interested students. If you are looking for personalized experience at a small college with opportunities to foster close personal relationships, you may want to consider looking into these options!With so many colleges and universities to choose from, students and their families should consider their individual needs and interests. With 53% of Indiana HS students going to college but only 44% completing college, we must do a better job preparing students not just to go to college but to complete college. That’s why @GEOFoundation schools provide students real college campus experience/courses during their 4 yrs in our HSs. Students build necessary time-management and self discipline skills during these years. It takes strength to complete college.
